Yerevan Football Academy Stadium

Most academy grounds stay academy grounds — youth fixtures until a senior side outgrows the pitch and moves on. The Yerevan Football Academy Stadium in Avan works the other way round: the club it hosts, Ararat-Armenia, was assembled from the academy's own graduates and simply stayed on the ground that raised them. The stadium carries the Federation's name rather than a sponsor's, and that name has never changed since it opened.

Building work on the wider technical centre began in 2007 under the Football Federation of Armenia's strategic development programme for the domestic game; the stadium itself was finished as the complex kept expanding through 2013 and on into 2016. A first official match went ahead there on 13 April 2013, with a formal opening following later that month.

Room for only 1,500 spectators tells its own story — the ground was built for development, not for drawing crowds, and the tenants reflect that. Pyunik played its home fixtures here for four seasons before leaving in 2017, the same year Ararat-Armenia arrived. CSKA Yerevan joined after its own revival in 2019, sharing the ground rather than competing for it. Armenia's women's national team has been based here since 2014, and the country's junior sides, the under-19s included, use the pitch regularly. The main surface stays natural grass, kept apart from the artificial training pitches elsewhere on the site.
