Moss advanced past Grorud in the Round of 64 of the Norwegian Cup after a 1-1 draw at Grorud Stadium on 23 September 2026. The match went to penalties, where Moss proved more reliable under pressure. Grorud had taken the lead through J. Rasen in the 19th minute before N. Semmen equalised for the visitors in the 53rd. Extra time produced no further goals, leaving the tie to be decided from the spot.
The penalty shootout lasted six rounds. Moss scored all eight of their attempts, with O. Aga, M. Jatta, N. Alexandersson, W. Silfver-Ramage, M. Eriksen, S. A. Marcello Silalahi, P. Andersen and W. Bjeglerud finding the net. Grorud converted three — T. Usman, J. Rasen and T. Mrakovic — while N. Ibsen missed in the sixth round. The miss ended Grorud's hopes and handed Moss a 8-3 victory on penalties.
Both sides shared possession evenly at 50 per cent and registered similar attacking output. Grorud managed 151 attacks to Moss's 150, with the visitors claiming more corners, 12 to 4. Shots on target favoured Moss 7-3, though Grorud had more attempts off target, five versus four. Yellow cards were level at four apiece and neither side was dismissed.
Grorud arrive at this stage on mixed form. They won 5-1 against Lokomotiv Oslo in August but have dropped points in three of their last five matches, including defeats to Strømmen and Raufoss. Moss come into the tie with more momentum, having beaten Sandnes Ulf 2-1 in their most recent game before that loss to Høegsund.
The result moves Moss into the last 32, while Grorud's campaign comes to an end. Both sides had chances to seal the tie in open play but the shootout proved decisive. Moss held their nerve when it mattered most, and the higher number of shots on target reflected their superiority in the final moments.
