About the player
Andreas Nibe Hansen's route into senior football ran through Midtjylland's academy, which he joined in 2016, and through the club's under-19 side, which won the Danish U19 Championship twice. He signed his first professional contract in September 2022 and made his senior debut a month later, in the Danish Cup. He did not play a league match for the first team.
Regular football came on loan. In January 2023 he moved to Næstved Boldklub in the Danish 1st Division and made 16 appearances there before the season ended. That spell led to a move abroad: in July 2023 he joined C.D. Mafra in Portugal's Liga Portugal 2. He stayed two years at Mafra and played 64 league games, scoring six goals.
On 16 August 2025 he signed for Sarpsborg 08 in Norway's Eliteserien, on a contract running to the end of 2028. Reports said the fee went to Midtjylland, though its size was not made public. He has since played 21 league matches for the club and scored once.
For Denmark he has played at youth level. He won one cap for the under-19 side and scored in it, and he has three caps for the under-20s.
