Dominic Nathaniel Calvert-Lewin

The goal that won the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup for England was Dominic Calvert-Lewin's. He scored it in the final against Venezuela. The route to that moment began in Sheffield, where he joined the Sheffield United academy at the age of eight.

His first senior football came on loan. At Stalybridge Celtic he scored six goals in five appearances, and at Northampton Town he added five in 20. He played 11 times for Sheffield United before Everton signed him on 31 August 2016 for a reported £1.5 million.

At Everton he made 273 appearances and scored 71 goals, 57 of them in 239 league matches. His best spell came in 2020. He scored five league goals in September and won the Premier League Player of the Month award. He finished 2020–21 as the club's top scorer with 21 goals in 39 matches and was named Everton's Player of the Year.

The senior England call followed in the same autumn. He made his debut on 8 October 2020 in a friendly against Wales and scored in a 3–0 win. He was in the squad that reached the final of UEFA Euro 2020. He has 13 senior caps and four goals, after 17 caps and seven goals for the under-21s.

When his Everton contract expired, he joined newly promoted Leeds United on a free transfer on 15 August 2025, signing a three-year deal to June 2028. He has scored 17 goals in 39 appearances for the club and won a second Player of the Month award in December 2025.
