About the player
Daniel Grimshaw is a goalkeeper who progressed through the academy but spent two years with the senior squad without making a league appearance. During the 2018/19 season, he was part of the squad that won the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Community Shield.
His path to regular playing time required movement. He went on loan to Hemel Hempstead Town in January 2020, where he made seven appearances and won the Hertfordshire Senior Challenge Cup. A move to Belgian side Lommel followed in October 2020, lasting until June 2021 with ten appearances recorded.
In July 2021, he joined Blackpool on a free transfer. Over three seasons, he made 91 appearances. In August 2024, Grimshaw transferred to Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee.
The next chapter began in June 2025 when he signed a three-year contract with Norwich City for an undisclosed fee. As of February 2026, he has made one appearance for the club.
Internationally, Grimshaw has represented England at youth levels. He appeared for the U21 side and played for Manchester City U19 in the UEFA Youth League.
