Gastón Benedetti Taffarel

Gastón Benedetti made his Estudiantes de La Plata debut in 2021. Sent on loan to Guillermo Brown in the Primera Nacional in 2022, he played 17 matches before returning to La Plata the following year. Back at Estudiantes in 2023, he won over manager Eduardo Domínguez and secured a starting role, making his Primera División debut on 31 March 2023 in a 3–0 win over Newell's Old Boys. Just over a month later, on 8 May 2023, he scored his first senior goals in a 2–0 victory over Vélez Sarsfield.

Benedetti came through the Estudiantes academy, which he joined in 2012 after starting out at Central Larroque. He captained the club's reserve side and lifted the Youth Super League title in 2019.

Since establishing himself as a starter, Benedetti has been part of a successful period for Estudiantes. He featured as a substitute in their Copa Argentina triumph in 2023, then started as the club won the Copa de la Liga Profesional in 2024, the Trofeo de Campeones de la Liga Profesional in both 2024 and 2025, and the Primera División Clausura title in 2025.
