José Alfonso Alvarado Pérez

Alfonso Alvarado came through Monterrey's youth ranks: he scored in both legs of the 2017 Clausura U-17 final against Pumas and finished that season as the top scorer among the club's youth categories. He made his first-team debut for Monterrey in August 2018, and by Clausura 2021 he had a Liga MX title on his CV, appearing ten times through the regular season and playoffs, though he was left out of the final against Tigres.

A loan to Rayo Vallecano's reserve side in the Liga de Expansión MX followed, before León took him on loan in the summer of 2022. Across 2022–23 he made 28 league appearances and scored three goals, and he was part of the León squad that lifted the 2023 CONCACAF Champions League, featuring in the semi-final against Tigres and the first leg of the final against Los Angeles FC. León made the deal permanent later that year.

Monterrey exercised a buy-back clause and brought him home in January 2025 in time for the Club World Cup and the Clausura campaign, where he added 13 league appearances. By August 2025, though, he was on his way back to León for the Apertura, in a deal that also covered teammate Jordi Cortizo. Alvarado has represented Mexico at U-17 level, with three caps in 2017.
