About the player
SV Meppen's number 44 has spent almost his entire career inside the same club walls. Julius Punt arrived at the Emsland side's youth academy, the JLZ Emsland, in 2019 after two years at FC Schüttorf 09, and worked his way up through the ranks until 2023, when he stepped up from SV Meppen II to the first-team squad.
His competitive debut came later than his promotion, and it was a baptism of fire: on 18 August 2024, Punt was between the posts for a DFB-Pokal tie away at Hamburger SV, a game SV Meppen lost 7:1.
