About the player
Lewis Shipley was part of the Norwich City under-18 side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2020–21. The centre-back had joined the club's academy aged seven and came through every age group there. He signed his first professional contract in October 2021.
A senior league debut for Norwich never came, so his first-team football was played out on loan. The 2023–24 season at Accrington Stanley was his first full spell of it. He made 26 League Two appearances and scored twice. In August 2024 he went to Cheltenham Town, but that loan was shorter. He played eight league games there before returning to Norwich in January 2025.
His contract in Norfolk ran out in June 2025, and on 27 June he signed for Barrow on a free transfer. The move gave him a place in a league side for a full season rather than a loan spell. He played 25 league games for the club and scored three goals.
In July 2026 Shipley left Barrow for Boston United. He has yet to win a senior team title or an individual award.
