Max Svensson Río

Four goals in his first six games for Penafiel gave the Swedish forward a start he looks for after several seasons spent largely on loan.

He came through the youth ranks of Barcelona, Gavà and Cornellà before joining Espanyol, where he played in the youth side from 2018 to 2020. He then moved into Espanyol B and made 58 appearances for them, scoring 12 goals. The first team gave him only two appearances, and he did not score in either.

Regular football came elsewhere. At Deportivo La Coruña he played 27 matches and scored four goals. His best return on loan came with Osasuna B, where he scored nine in 34 games. He also played once for Osasuna's first team, without scoring.

Casa Pia signed him next. He played 30 times for the club and scored once. He then went on loan to Ibiza, where he made 19 appearances and scored three goals, before moving on to Penafiel.

He is right-footed. His record there is still only six games long. Even so, it is the first time his goals have come at close to a rate of one every game and a half.
