Martin Chlumecký

Three own goals in his first five Czech First League matches for Dukla Prague in the 2018–19 season made Martin Chlumecký's start in the top flight a talking point in Czech media. The centre-back had joined Dukla on a free transfer in July 2018.

He came through the academy at Slovan Liberec, where he made his senior debut. He was then sent out to gain regular football. At Varnsdorf in 2017–18 he made 27 appearances. In the second half of 2018–19 he was loaned from Dukla to Vysočina Jihlava and played 13 times. He left Dukla as a free agent in July 2021 and signed for Teplice.

The following years were spent moving between clubs. He joined Baník Ostrava in January 2022 and was loaned to Pardubice for the 2022–23 season, playing 26 matches. He returned to Pardubice on a six-month loan in January 2024 and made nine appearances. His contract with Podbeskidzie was ended by mutual consent in July 2024.

The next month he signed for Kisvárda, then in the Nemzeti Bajnokság II, on a free transfer with a contract running to 2027. In 2024–25 he helped the club win the second division and earn promotion to the Hungarian top flight.

Chlumecký played for the Czech Republic at youth level: four matches for the under-17s in 2014, six for the under-18s, two for the under-20s and one for the under-21s in 2017. He has not played for the senior national team.
