About the player
Matej Strika grew up in the Crvena zvezda academy, working his way through the club's U17 and U19 sides. He found the net at U19 level in the UEFA Youth League, scoring against Larn in August 2024. A left-footed left-back, he stands 184 cm tall and was born in Banja Luka.
To get regular senior minutes, Crvena zvezda sent him on loan to FK Grafičar Beograd in the Serbian First League for the 2025/2026 season, where he made nine appearances. He returned to Crvena zvezda and made his first-team debut in June 2026 against OFK Beograd, in what was the final match of that season. He has since signed a professional contract with the club running to 2028, and was part of the Crvena zvezda squad that won the Serbian SuperLiga title in 2025/26.
Strika has moved steadily up through Serbia's youth international set-up. He was capped three times for the U15s in 2023, then added seven caps and a goal at U16 level across 2024 and 2025. By the middle of 2026 he had earned around a dozen appearances for the U17s, and he has also featured for the U19 side, which won its championship on two occasions during his time involved.
