About the player
Nikita Gubarev came through the youth ranks at Okzhetpes in Kokshetau, having started out at a football school in his native Atbasar, making seven appearances for the senior side in 2022 and 2023.
A brief spell in Russia followed in 2024, when he joined Lada-Togliatti as a free agent and made a single appearance before returning to Kazakhstan. At the start of 2025 he signed for Kaysar in the Premier League, playing 21 matches and scoring once. He moved on again as a free agent at the start of 2026, joining Kyzyl-Zhar on a contract running to the end of that year, and has already made 19 appearances for the club.
Gubarev has also represented Kazakhstan at youth level. He featured for the under-17s at the UEFA Development Cup in 2021, scoring once in three matches, and has since stepped up to the under-21 side, making his debut against Georgia's under-21s in June 2024. He has continued to be involved in the under-21 setup during qualifying for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship.
