Nurbergen Nurbol

Nurbol Nurbergen came through Zhetysu's own academy, starting out with the club's reserve side in 2018 and staying there until 2023, a stretch in which he scored 22 goals in 70 appearances. A loan spell with Zhetysu B followed in 2020, adding ten further matches to his tally before he pushed for a place in the first team.

His breakthrough came on 14 April 2021, when he made his Kazakhstan Premier League debut against Atyrau in a game that finished 2-2. He did not have to wait long to get off the mark at senior level: on 28 May 2021 he scored his first top-flight goal, in a 2-0 win over Turan. Since then he has settled into Zhetysu's midfield, operating mainly on the right, and has gone on to make 56 appearances for the first team, scoring seven goals.

Nurbergen has also represented Kazakhstan at under-21 level, earning four caps. He made his youth international debut on 7 September 2021, against Denmark's U-21 side.

Away from the professional game, he was part of the Dostar side that won the Taldykorgan Premier League in six-a-side mini-football in the autumn of 2021, a tournament in which he scored 15 goals.
