About the player
Castelle's path to professional football ran through the German amateur leagues before it ran through anything else. At VfL Senden he scored 32 goals in 26 appearances in the Landesliga, a return that took him to Schalke 04's second team in January 2022. Over two seasons there he added 16 goals in 63 Regionalliga appearances, form that earned him a single first-team outing for Schalke in the 2. Bundesliga in 2024.
That summer he signed for SSV Ulm 1846 on a free transfer, but first-team chances in the 2. Bundesliga were limited to five appearances. The 2024-25 season took him out on loan to Alemannia Aachen in the 3. Liga, where he made 17 appearances and scored twice. Aachen extended the loan for a second season, and Castelle again became a regular fixture, adding 26 more appearances and two more goals in the 2025-26 campaign.
In 2026 he moved on to Viktoria Köln, also in the 3. Liga, where he now plays. Castelle has not been capped at any level for Germany, and his career so far has been built on steady contribution in the third and fourth tiers rather than individual honours or silverware.
