Niklas Jahn

Niklas Jahn spent a decade in the youth system at 1. FC Nürnberg, working through the club's academy from 2014 before progressing to the U19 and U23 sides. That long apprenticeship ended in the summer of 2024, when the midfielder moved on a free transfer to VfL Bochum 1848, signing a contract that ran to 2027. At Bochum he was assigned to the U21 side, playing in the Regionalliga and the Oberliga Westfalen rather than pushing straight into senior football.

Jahn's development drew brief interest from the national set-up: he was named as a standby player for Germany's U18s in the spring of 2022, first in March and again in May, though he was not among those who took the field in a match for the team.

In May 2026, with two years still left on his contract in Bochum, Jahn agreed to leave for FC Viktoria Köln ahead of the 2026/27 season. Both clubs kept the fee to themselves. The move took him into the 3. Liga, where he now wears number 16 in midfield.

It is a career built so far on patience rather than headlines. Jahn is right-footed and stands 171cm tall, a midfielder whose path has so far run through reserve and regional football rather than first-team breakthroughs.
