Nikola Marjanovic

Nikola Marjanović's route to Serbia's top flight ran through Austria and Slovakia before it ever went through a Serbian first division. He returned home in 2021 and worked his way back up through the Serbian lower leagues with Mačva 1929 Bogatić, Feniks 1995 and Radnički Sremska Mitrovica.

The breakthrough came at Tekstilac Odžaci, where Marjanović became a fixture at the back and started 33 of 34 league matches in the 2024–25 season as the club secured a historic promotion to the Serbian SuperLiga. That run made him one of the more sought-after defenders outside the top division, and in the summer of 2025 he moved on to Radnički 1923 Kragujevac, now wearing the number five shirt.

Almost none of his moves have involved a transfer fee, most coming as free transfers between clubs. He is right-footed and, at 190 cm, built for the aerial and physical side of central defending.

There is another footballer named Nikola Marjanović, born in 2001 and capped at under-21 level for Serbia after coming through Brodarac's youth system — a separate player from the 1998-born defender now at Radnički Kragujevac, who has yet to earn a senior international call-up.
