About the player
Ondřej Zmrzlý won a trophy in his first season in Poland. He joined Górnik Zabrze on loan on 25 February 2026, with an option to buy, and the club lifted the Polish Cup at the end of 2025–26. On 17 June 2026 Górnik triggered the option. The left-back signed a three-year contract running to 30 June 2029, for a fee of €500,000 plus up to €200,000 in bonuses. He has made 18 appearances for the club without scoring.
His route to Zabrze began in Olomouc. He started out at SK Bělkovice-Lašťany and left in 2007 for Sigma Olomouc. His first spell there in 2005 was a loan, and the move later became permanent. He made his senior debut on 13 July 2019 against Viktoria Plzeň. Over the next five seasons he played 128 times for the first team and scored 12 goals. He also made 11 appearances for the Sigma reserve side.
Slavia Praha signed him on a free transfer on 5 January 2024, on a contract until June 2027. He played 52 times for the club and scored five goals. In the 2024–25 season he won the Czech First League title with Slavia. Slavia loaned him to Górnik early in 2026.
Zmrzlý was nominated for the Czech national team in November 2022. He has won no individual awards.
