About the player
Robert Olteanu came through the Oţelul Galați academy, the same city where he was born, and is the son of Iulian Olteanu, a former coach at the club. He first stepped out for Oţelul Galați's reserve side before the club sent him out on loan for the 2024–2025 season to Unirea Braniștea in Liga III.
The loan gave him a chance to contribute directly to the scoresheet. He scored against Sporting Liești in a 1-1 draw, then found the net in a 7-1 win over Dacia Unirea Brăila, and added another in a 7-1 victory against CSM Râmnicu Sărat.
That return came in June 2025, when his loan spell ended and he went back to Oţelul Galați. He is now part of the club's senior squad picture heading into the new season.
