About the player
Robin Ziegele came up through VfL Wolfsburg's academy system, spending three seasons with the reserve side in the Regionalliga Nord and winning the division title with them in 2019. He was briefly signed to Wolfsburg's first team that year but never made an appearance for the senior side.
His path to regular first-team football ran through Eintracht Braunschweig, where he moved on a free transfer after his Wolfsburg contract expired. Over two seasons there he made 35 appearances and was part of the squad that won promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. He then joined Preußen Münster in the Regionalliga West, followed by a season at FSV Zwickau in the 3. Liga, where he made 27 appearances.
Ziegele signed for SSV Jahn Regensburg on a free transfer in the summer of 2023. His performances there earned him a contract extension, taking his deal from an original expiry in 2025 through to 2027. He plays as a centre-back and has not been out on loan at any stage of his career, with every move so far a permanent transfer.
