About the player
Sidney Silva Santos arrived in Ukraine as a teenager who had made no first-team appearances for Bahia, where he had come through the youth academy. In February 2019 he signed a four-year contract with Rukh Lviv. He made his debut on 5 April 2019 in a 2–2 draw with Prykarpattia, and he finished the spell with 12 appearances and two goals in the First League.
His time at Rukh included a short detour. In March 2020 he went on loan to Ararat-2 in Armenia, but the stay produced a single appearance in the second division. He was back at Rukh by the summer.
He then returned to Brazil for close to four years. He joined Desportivo Brasil as a free agent on 1 January 2021 and left on 1 May 2022. Brief spells at SC Brasil and Vera Cruz followed, and then a season at Taquaritinga.
Ukraine came calling again in early 2024, when Livyi Bereh signed him on a free transfer. His first match for the club did not come until 9 August 2024, a 3–0 defeat away to Vorskla. Since then he has become a regular. He has played 62 matches for Livyi Bereh and scored 11 goals, and he has added five assists. His contract runs until June 2027.
