Thomas Ignacio Galdames Millán

Thomas Galdames made his Chile debut at the 2024 Copa América, coming on as a substitute against Canada on 29 June. Within a month he had left Argentina for Russia. Krylya Sovetov paid €650,000 for the left-back and signed him to a contract running to 30 June 2027. He became the second Chilean in the club's history, after the goalkeeper Eduardo Lobos. By the end of 2024 he had four caps for the senior side and had not scored for them.

On 17 August 2024, in the match against Dynamo Moscow, he collided with Moumi Ngamale in an aerial duel, and Ngamale was taken off on a stretcher. Galdames apologised to him in person and gave him a bottle of Chilean wine.

At Godoy Cruz he collected six yellow cards and two red in a single season, and he put that down to his aggressive style of play. He had joined the Argentine club on a free transfer in early 2023 and made 50 appearances, 24 of them in the league, where he scored twice.

His grounding came at Unión Española in Santiago, his home city, where he played from 2018 to 2022. He made 108 appearances there, 84 of them in the league, and scored six goals: three in the league and three in the Copa Chile. Five of those appearances came in international competition. Before that, he had been in Chile's squad for the 2020 Pre-Olympic Tournament, though he did not play.
