About the player
Tim-Justin Dietrich took the long way to Münster, and much of it ran through the lower reaches of German football. Born in Seehausen (Altmark), he began at 1. FC Lok Stendal before moving into 1. FC Magdeburg's youth system and then Werder Bremen, where he progressed through the academy and into Werder Bremen II, making 53 appearances in the Regionalliga Nord. Along the way he was named on standby for the German U19 side on two occasions, though the call-up never converted into caps, and he collected appearances for regional representative sides in Bremen and Sachsen-Anhalt.
A move to Hallescher FC in 2023 brought only four 3. Liga appearances, but it did bring a first senior honour when Halle won the Sachsen-Anhalt Cup. He found more regular football after joining Kickers Emden in 2024, where 32 Regionalliga Nord appearances yielded three goals and two assists. A switch to FC Schalke 04 II followed in 2025, and he made the step up to the Bundesliga 2 side itself, playing one match for Schalke's first team.
Dietrich's move to Preußen Münster arrived alongside the club's promotion push, and he was part of the squad that won the 2. Bundesliga title in the 2024/25 season, sending Münster up to the Bundesliga.
