About the player
Tom Opitz is a product of TSV Havelse's own academy. He arrived from TSV Bemerode in 2018 and worked through the youth ranks — U18, B-Juniors, U19 — before signing his first professional contract with the senior squad in 2022. His debut came in the Regionalliga Nord that same season, the fourth tier of German football.
The defining moment of his time at the club arrived in the 2024/25 season, when Havelse won the Regionalliga Nord title and earned promotion to the 3. Liga. Opitz was a key part of that squad. Since the step up, he has continued as the club's first-choice goalkeeper, making 25 appearances in the 3. Liga so far this season.
He has no international caps to his name and no individual honours beyond his role in the club's title-winning campaign. His contract at Havelse runs until 2027, tying him to the project he grew up in as it adjusts to life in a higher division.
