João Vitor Xavier de Almeida

Xavier arrived at Corinthians in 2019 on a four-year contract. He made his Série A debut for the club against Bahia on 17 September 2020. Across the following years he played 43 times for the side. Corinthians finished runner-up in the Campeonato Paulista in 2020 and in the Copa do Brasil in 2022, and he was part of the club during both seasons.

He came to Corinthians from Ponte Preta, whom he joined in 2017 after starting out in the youth academy at Portuguesa Santista. His first-team football at Ponte Preta was limited to three appearances between 2018 and 2019.

After leaving Corinthians he moved on a free transfer to Avaí in March 2023. At the turn of 2023 to 2024 he left for Azuriz, again without a fee. That was the start of a more unsettled period. In July 2024 Azuriz sent him on loan to Ituano until the end of the year, and he played 11 times there. He scored three goals for Azuriz in 2024 and made 31 appearances for them.

On 8 July 2025 he joined Portimonense on loan from Azuriz for the 2025/26 season. The agreement includes an option to buy him for €325,000. He has played 22 times for the Portuguese club and scored once. He has not won a senior title, and he has no senior caps for Brazil.
