Canton Liberal

The change came a few months after the final of the W John Owen Cup in 2022–23. The nickname stayed as it was. Fans still say The Yellows, and some still say The Libs or The Liberals.

The club was founded in 2006 in the Canton district of Cardiff, and it began at the bottom. In its first season it won Division Four of the Cardiff & District League. It then won Division Three, Division Two and Division One in the next three seasons, so that by 2010 it had climbed four divisions in four years. The Premier Division title followed in 2012–13. After that the club left the city league. It won the South Wales Amateur League Division Two in 2014–15 and the South Wales Alliance League Division One a year later.

The club has reached its First Round twice, in 2014–15 and 2017–18, and has not won it.

One name has run through much of this. Christopher Dye made 500 appearances over 13 seasons and now manages the youth team. He played for the club, earned Wales Under-21 caps and made his debut for Cardiff City.

Home is the SSI Pitch, an artificial surface behind the main athletics stadium at the Cardiff International Sports Campus, with room for about 750. The nearest rival is Cardiff Corinthians, and Grange Albion are also counted as a local derby. Kofi Rowe is the most recent Golden Boot winner.
