Chicago Dutch Lions

The Chicago Dutch Lions' first honour came in 2021, from a season in which they did not win the league. Their women's team, fielded in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), finished second in the Lake Michigan Conference and was named the conference's Best Franchise of the Year.

The club was created in 2020 as the seventh in the Dutch Lions FC network. It belongs to Dutch Lions Group USA LLC, a joint venture whose partners include Tammer Sportmanagement B.V., owned by Erik Tammer, a former Ajax player. The academy work follows Dutch youth development methods linked to FC Twente. The women started in 2021 and the men followed in 2022, joining USL League Two. The women moved up to the USL W League in the same year.

Home games are at Spartan Athletic Park in Aurora, Illinois, which holds about 1,100 spectators. Some fixtures go to Winnemac Stadium, also in Aurora. Martijn Meerdink, a former AZ Alkmaar and De Graafschap player and a Netherlands international, is among the people associated with the club.

The club's nearest rival is Chicago City SC. Matches between the two are called the "Chicago derby", though the club has no formal derby name of its own. Chicago FC United and River Light FC are the other local sides it plays.
