Cyprus U19 a fresh set of qualifying opponents arrives every campaign, and the team's clearest measure of itself has come against the strongest of them. Drawn into the Elite Round of the 2012 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification, the side met Denmark, Greece and Turkey and lost all three, finishing bottom of the group. and the honours list stays empty.

The squad answers to the Cyprus Football Association and wears the senior national team's colours in miniature: blue at home, white away, the same badge on the shirt. That borrowing runs deeper than the kit. Training at the Allegra GSP Sport Center in Nicosia puts the under-19s inside the same complex that houses the full national side, a proximity that keeps promotion between the age groups a short walk rather than a leap.

The team's history opens on 14 March 1979, in Nicosia, against Yugoslavia, a match Cyprus lost 0–3. That defeat stands as the first entry in the side's record, and everything the under-19s have played since traces back to that one result.
