Kaplan Field sits inside the Mount Saint Mary College campus, opposite Hudson Hall. The artificial turf underfoot is the point: it was laid down as a new all-weather surface.
The name traces back to the Kaplan family, whose support also put their name on the campus recreation centre and library.
With room for 1,000 spectators, it works instead as a shared pitch: the college's own soccer and lacrosse teams use it, Hudson Valley Hammers and Hudson Valley Crusaders play their home fixtures there, and Newburgh Free Academy has used it too.
