Unlike its predecessor, the new ground has no running track separating fans from the pitch, and a roof runs over every seat. The municipality still owns it, and since 2025 it has shared its tenants: Universitatea Craiova alongside FCU Craiova 1948.
The pitch changed too. In late 2019, groundstaff tore out the natural turf and laid a hybrid surface grown in Greece — the first pitch of its kind installed anywhere in Romania. The stadium has hosted a Romania friendly against Sweden, and in August 2025 a Conference League win over İstanbul Başakşehir drew close to 28,000. Outside football, it has turned into a concert stop, with the IntenCity Festival bringing J Balvin and Bebe Rexha to Craiova.
