Match report
Al-Adala took all three points at Al-Buqaiyah in the First Division on Sunday evening, winning 1-0 thanks to D. Miranda's early strike. The visitors made the difference from a single opportunity while the hosts camped in the final third with possession but could not find a way through. It was Al-Buqaiyah's first win of the campaign, and they felt the pressure throughout despite controlling 63 per cent of the ball.
Miranda broke the deadlock in the 17th minute, a moment that stayed with everyone watching. Al-Buqaiyah responded with urgency, but their attempts lacked precision — just one shot on target from nine attempts all evening. Three yellow cards came their way after the break as things came to a head, with M. Al Saeed, M. Al Harbi and R. Sharahili booked between the 29th and 40th minutes.
The statistics tell a story of wasted territory. Al-Buqaiyah registered 89 attacks and won six corners, yet they were second to everything in terms of quality in the final third. Al-Adala, with 37 per cent possession, kept their side in it and showed remarkable efficiency — six shots on target from eight attempts, with one finding the net. They were dominant in the air from set plays, though the data does not break down aerial duels further.
By then, the hosts were closing in on a deal to turn this around, but the visitors were out of sight by half-time and kept their composure. The result lifts Al-Adala off the bottom of the table while Al-Buqaiyah remain in 10th place with two points from two games. They have not won since the opening weekend, and this time they were the ones who found a way back into it.
