About the player
Adriel came through Grêmio's youth ranks, joining the under-20 side in 2018 and making his senior debut in 2021, the same year he started in goal as Grêmio beat Santa Cruz 3–0 to win the Recopa Gaúcha. Two years later he was the starting goalkeeper again as Grêmio won the Campeonato Gaúcho, saving two penalties in the semi-final against Ypiranga.
Bahia took him in July 2023 with a purchase clause of around R$ 20 million, though it went unused after 11 appearances and five clean sheets; he was sent off against Vitória in April 2024. A loan to Athletic Club followed in 2025, where he made 30 appearances in Série B and helped the club avoid relegation, but again the option to buy was not taken up.
Adriel then moved to Portugal, joining AVS on loan from January 2026.
