Brian Gutiérrez

Brian Gutiérrez spent his entire youth and start of his professional career at Chicago Fire, joining the club's academy in 2019 and signing his first homegrown contract at just 16, on 9 March 2020, which made him the youngest homegrown signing in the club's history at the time. He worked his way up through Chicago Fire II before making his professional debut that same year.

Across six seasons with Chicago Fire, he made 164 appearances in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and adding 30 assists. His most significant individual moment came on 22 October 2025, when he became the first homegrown player in Chicago Fire history to score in the playoffs, opening the scoring in a 3–1 Wild Card win over Orlando City that helped send the Fire to their first postseason since 2017. The Athletic had rated him among the league's top young American talents in 2023.

In December 2025, Chicago Fire and Guadalajara Chivas agreed a transfer, officially confirmed on 13 December, with Gutiérrez signing a contract running to 2030. He made his debut for the club in January 2026.

Born in Illinois to a Mexican background, Gutiérrez had represented the United States at youth level before switching his international allegiance to Mexico in November 2025 after obtaining a Mexican passport. He earned his senior debut for Mexico on 23 May 2026, scoring in the second minute of a friendly against Ghana in Puebla, and was subsequently named in Mexico's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
