About the player
Harry Paton's route to Cavalry FC ran through four levels of Scottish football. He never made a senior league appearance for the Edinburgh club, and it was two loan spells at Stenhousemuir that shaped him as a player: in the first, from 2017 to 2018, he scored 8 goals in 31 Scottish League Two appearances and helped the team to promotion.
Ross County made that development permanent, signing him in July 2018 after a second Stenhousemuir loan. Over four seasons in Dingwall he made more than 100 appearances and became a regular starter in the Scottish Premiership, and in his first season there the club won the Scottish Championship and the Scottish Challenge Cup. He left as a free agent in 2022, returned to Scottish football with Motherwell the following year on another free transfer, and stayed there until his contract was not renewed in June 2025.
Paton then joined Forge FC in September 2025 for the rest of the CPL season before agreeing terms with Cavalry FC for the 2026 campaign. On the international side, he was named in Canada's squad for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup but did not play because of COVID-19 protocols; his senior debut for the national team eventually came in October 2023, against Japan.
