Rubén Leonardo Pico Carvajal

Leonardo Pico left El Cocuy as a boy, driven out by violence in the region, and rebuilt his football education in Sogamoso before a six-month spell with coach Alexis García's academy pointed him towards Patriotas Boyacá. It was there that he made his name: 162 appearances and a Primera B title that took the club into the top flight.

Santa Fe came calling in the second half of 2016, with Patriotas keeping a sell-on clause in the deal. The midfielder went on to collect Primera A titles across two spells in the capital, adding further championships during a stint at Atlético Junior before a brief return to Santa Fe. Sources credit him with five titles at Santa Fe and three at Junior.

A short stay at Once Caldas followed, where he made 24 appearances, before he joined Fortaleza CEIF in 2023. He was instrumental in the club's Primera B title that year, a promotion that carried Fortaleza into the top division. He has never been capped by the Colombian national team, despite having said in earlier interviews that he hoped to be.
