Micael dos Santos Silva

Micael dos Santos Silva's move to Inter Miami in January 2026 saw him arrive on loan from Palmeiras, with a purchase option attached, after Houston Dynamo had sold him to the Brazilian club in a deal that stood as the record sale in the Texas club's history. The left-footed centre-back had spent the previous three seasons building himself into that kind of asset in MLS, moving from a loan spell with Houston Dynamo 2 into the first team before signing permanently in February 2023 and going on to make 80 appearances, with goals in both MLS and the Leagues Cup. He was part of the Houston squad that reached the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

His route there began far from the United States. Silva progressed through Inter de Limeira before a senior debut at Independente de Limeira in 2019, then joined Atlético Mineiro's youth ranks. The step up came in December 2021 with his professional debut for the Belo Horizonte club, a period that brought a heavy run of honours: the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Copa do Brasil in 2021, back-to-back Campeonato Mineiro titles in 2021 and 2022, and the Supercopa do Brasil in 2022, on top of a Brazilian under-20 championship won with Atlético's junior side.

At Inter Miami, he has settled straight into the side, starting 17 matches across MLS and the Leagues Cup this year for more than 1,500 minutes on the pitch. He got on the scoresheet against Atlético de San Luis on 5 August, though a week later an ankle injury picked up against León interrupted his run. He has yet to add international recognition to his club record, with no senior caps for Brazil to date.
