Ryan Raposo

Ryan Raposo was released by the Toronto FC Academy at 13 for being too small, and rebuilt his path through Burlington Youth SC and Vaughan SC before playing for Vaughan Azzurri in League1 Ontario while studying at Syracuse University, scoring 13 goals in 24 appearances there. Vancouver Whitecaps FC picked him 4th overall in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, and he made 121 league appearances for the club, scoring five goals and winning the Canadian Championship three times, in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He was named the competition's Best Young Canadian Player in 2022.

In February 2025 Raposo agreed to join the Chinese club Liaoning Tieren under the name Wu Xiaohai. The process failed two months later, in April 2025. He signed instead with Los Angeles FC as a free agent that same month, joining on a one-year deal with a club option for 2026, and also featured briefly for LAFC 2 in MLS Next Pro.

Raposo has not made a senior appearance for Canada, though he was named to the preliminary roster for the 2023 CONCACAF Nations League Finals. He earned four caps for the Canada under-23 side in 2021. At Syracuse, he was named to the All-ACC First Team in 2019, and he was named MVP of the 2017 Canada Summer Games.
