Kara

Kara's ground has belonged to one club and one rival for decades, and this season it is ASKO doing most of the winning.

It was not always so lopsided. The club's first championships came in 1988 and 1989, then nothing at that level for close to two decades until 2007. What has changed this decade is consistency rather than a single trophy run — five league titles in six seasons, with a Supercoupe added in 2021.

Continental football has been less kind. ASKO have gone out in the second round of the CAF Champions League twice, against Club Africain in 2008 and against JS Kabylie in the 2022–23 campaign.

None of this matters more locally than the Derby de la Kozah, played against ASC Kara, the other club carrying the same city's name.

The club took its name from the Kozah region itself when it was formed in September 1974.
