SSU Poli Timişoara Women

The club that plays at Stadionul Știința today did not start there. It began in 2015 in Becicherecu Mic, a village outside Timișoara, under the name CS Nuova Mama Mia, before becoming ACS Fortuna Becicherecu Mic. A separate team carrying the Politehnica name existed too, set up in 2019 by Alin Molcuț with Alexandru Szabo coaching, and for a while both sides ran in parallel, one in the top flight and one below it. In the summer of 2021 the two arrangements merged into one: Fortuna took on the university's Politehnica branding for its Liga I football, while the original Politehnica women's side dropped into a reserve role and eventually stopped competing altogether.

The runners-up medals came under both identities. As ASU Politehnica the club won Liga III in 2019–20, the promotion that mattered more than the trophy itself. As Fortuna and then as Politehnica Femina, it finished second in Liga I in 2018–19 and again in 2022–23, and reached the final of Cupa României in that same 2018–19 campaign without getting over the line.

The Stadionul Știința holds 2,600, and the team that fills it wears white and purple, earning them the name Alb-violeții among their own supporters. Local pride sharpens against CFR Timișoara and Ripensia Timișoara, but the fixture that draws the most attention is the West Derby against UTA Arad.

Laura Rus and Cristina Sucilă have carried the Politehnica shirt through the club's best seasons.
