Every meeting with Molot-Prikamye Perm in Neftekamsk is known as the Perm-Neftekamsk Derby, and it is a fixture supporters circle first.

The team did not start out under this name. Under coach Sergey Voikin, the side earned its place in the Volga zone of the Russian Championship in 1988, the step that turned a local team into a professional one.

Neftekamsk did not have a proper home until 2007, when the Ice Palace opened with room for 2,000 spectators. Those ambitions were realised soon after: a silver medal in the 2009–2010 Russian Championship sent Toros up into the newly formed Supreme Hockey League, and the club marked the league's very first match, on 11 September 2010, with a win over Molot-Prikamye Perm. Toros built the strongest run of its history, taking the Bratina Cup three times, in 2011–2012, 2012–2013 and 2014–2015, and topping the regular season table in 2013–2014.
