Visby/Roma

Adam Lidström carries a name Gotland already knew before he laced up for Visby/Roma HK. Pelle Karlsson, brother of Erik Karlsson, has worn the blue and white too.

It came together in 2001, when Visby AIK and Roma IF folded their hockey sections into one. Visby AIK had run a section only from 1970 to 1994, Roma IF's lasted just three years before the merger.

In 2012/2013 the club won the Allettan Mellan group in Division 1, then lost the promotion playoff to Huddinge IK.

Off the ice, Gotland supplies its own geography of rivalry. The trip to the mainland to face IK Oskarshamn means a ferry crossing, and the fixture is known locally as the Färjederbyt — the Ferry Derby.
