Volna Pinsk

The club that plays in Pinsk today started life as a works team named Communalnik . That was in the autumn of 1989. The name lasted seven years; then came Pinsk-900 , in use until 2005, before the club settled on Volna — the wave — and the blue-and-white kit that goes with it. Around Belarus they are the sailors .

Volna finished second in the First League in 1995 and again in 2009, and took third four times in the 1990s. The trophy they do hold is from lower down: champions of the Second League in 2016.

The one name that carries across those decades is Sergei Volodko , who played 491 matches for the club and scored 128 goals — both club records.

The cup has produced the sharpest days. Home matches are played at the Volna stadium on Irkutsk-Pinsk Division Street, opened in 2008, artificial pitch, 3,136 seats.
