About

The Belarus Cup is the primary annual domestic knockout football competition in Belarus, organized by the Belarusian Football Federation (BFF). Founded in 1992, it emerged as a distinct entity following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, succeeding the Byelorussian SSR Cup which ran from 1936 to 1991. The tournament sits below the Belarusian Premier League in the national pyramid but serves as the secondary qualification route to European football.

The competition features approximately 62 participants, including all clubs from the Premier League, First League, and Second League, as well as amateur regional champions. The format is a straight knockout system without group stages. Lower-division and amateur teams enter in early qualifying rounds, with the top two First League teams sometimes skipping to the 1/16 stage. Premier League clubs enter at the Round of 16. The 1/8 final is a single match, while the quarter-finals and semi-finals are played over two legs. The final is a single match at a neutral venue, decided by extra time and penalties if necessary.

A key distinction from the Premier League is the eligibility of reserve teams (doubles) and amateur clubs to participate in the Cup, although they are generally barred from winning promotion to higher professional divisions. The winner of the Belarus Cup qualifies for the UEFA Europa Conference League first qualifying round and faces the Premier League champion in the Belarusian Super Cup. If the cup winner also qualifies for Europe via the league, the European spot is passed to the next highest-placed league team or the cup runner-up, depending on the season's regulations. BATE Borisov is the most successful club with 6 titles. Neman Grodno is the current holder, having won back-to-back titles in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.
