Viktoriya Maryina Horka

Maryina Horka got its club. The name did not stay fixed. Over the next two and a half decades the club broke apart and reformed more than once, playing at times as Energiya-TEC-5 and as Zvezda before settling on Viktoriya in 2015.

None of those years produced a run in the Premier League or even the First League — Viktoriya's football has stayed regional. Three straight Minsk Region Championships, in 2003, 2004 and 2005, gave the club its best spell, and a Minsk Region Cup followed in 2015, the same year the current name was adopted.

The club has sent players further than that spell would suggest. Pyotr Zyl came through Viktoriya before playing for Belarus at under-17 and under-19 level and moving on to Dinamo Minsk and Dnepr Mogilev, while Aleksandr Puzevich went from Maryina Horka into Premier League football with Belshina Bobruisk and Smorgon.

Locally, the rivalry that matters is with Zvezda, another club from the Pukhavichy District and one Viktoriya was itself once entangled with under its old names. Off the pitch, the club runs without an official website, keeping its supporters informed instead through its VKontakte pages.

Viktoriya now plays in the Belarusian Second League, the third tier, working out of the City Stadium in front of crowds within a ground that holds around 1,500. The regional titles from two decades ago remain the high point; the job in front of the club is to find a way back up from the third tier.
