The capacity has rarely settled since. It opened for 8,500, and stayed close to that mark until Boyacá's departmental government brought in temporary stands for the 2008 Apertura final, when Boyacá Chicó beat América de Cali on penalties to win the title in front of 12,000 people. Work on the East stand ran from 2008 to 2011, and a new North stand went up between 2011 and 2012, pushing capacity past 23,000. Plastic seating across the East and West stands and better floodlighting were added, though the reconstruction actually trimmed the total back down to 20,000.
