African Club Championship 2025/26

The CAVB African Club Championship stands as the premier continental club volleyball competition in Africa, organized by the Confederation of African Volleyball. It serves as the top-tier club competition on the continent, with the winner qualifying for the FIVB Club World Championship. The tournament is held annually, with qualification restricted to national league champions from CAVB member nations.

The format typically involves a final tournament stage featuring group stages followed by knockout rounds, with the number of participating teams varying by edition. Unlike some other continental competitions, there is no promotion or relegation system; participation is based solely on domestic league success. The competition is distinct from the discontinued African Cup Winners' Cup, which featured domestic cup champions, as this championship exclusively features league champions.

Al Ahly SC (Egypt) is the most successful club in history, dominating both genders with 17 men's titles. Other notable men's winners include CS Sfaxien (Tunisia, 6 titles), Zamalek SC (Egypt, 5 titles), and ES Tunis (Tunisia, 5 titles). In recent years, Asswehly SC (Libya) won the men's title in 2025, while Al Ahly won in 2024 and 2026. For women, Kenya Pipelines and Kenya Prisons are the most successful with 5 titles each, followed by Club Africain (Tunisia) with 4. The current men's champion is Al Ahly SC (2026), and the current women's champion is also Al Ahly SC (2026).

The competition has seen varying numbers of participants, with 8 teams in some years and up to 30 in the 2026 men's edition. This structure allows for a dynamic and competitive environment, showcasing the best club volleyball talent from across the African continent. The tournament's prestige is further enhanced by the opportunity to compete against world-class teams in the FIVB Club World Championship.
