About

The Women's African Volleyball Club Championship serves as the premier continental event for women’s club volleyball in Africa, organized by the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB). It sits at the top of the pyramid, with the winner qualifying for the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship. The tournament was first contested in 1986 in Tunis, distinct from the men's competition which began in 1980.

The format typically involves 16 teams divided into four groups of four, playing a round-robin group stage followed by a knockout stage. Qualification is based on winning CAF Zonal Union tournaments, with automatic spots for the defending champions and the host nation. There is no promotion or relegation system between continental tiers.

Al Ahly SC (Egypt) is the most successful club with 11 titles. Kenya Pipelines and Kenya Prisons each have 5 titles. Zamalek SC (Egypt) is the current champion, having won three consecutive titles in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
