About

Serbia Cup is the premier knockout tournament for women's volleyball in Serbia. Established in 2006 after the dissolution of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, the competition follows the Kup Srbije u odbojci za žene format. It is organized by the Volleyball Federation of Serbia (OSSRB). The tournament comprises sixteen clubs drawn from the top-tier Superliga, the First League, and regional competitions. The structure moves from a Round of 16 played as single-leg ties through to two-legged quarter-finals and semi-finals. The aggregate points system awards three points for straight-set victories and two for three-set wins, with a Golden Set resolving ties. The final is a single match held at a neutral venue.

The tournament offers a distinct pathway from the domestic league. While the Superliga champion qualifies for the Champions League, the Cup winner advances to European competitions, typically the CEV Cup or Challenge Cup. This format allows clubs from lower divisions to compete against top-flight opponents. In the modern era, Crvena Zvezda holds the record with six titles. Other multiple winners include Poštar 064 Belgrade, Železničar Lajkovac, and Ub. Ub entered the season as the reigning champion, having secured the title in the previous campaign.

Teams such as Takovo Women, Omladinac Women, Partizan Women, Crno Bele Women, and Zeleznicar Women participate in the broader ecosystem of Serbian volleyball. The competition provides a secondary route for European qualification, distinguishing it from the round-robin league structure. The knockout nature of the event contrasts with the consistency required in the league, creating opportunities for clubs outside the top tier to reach the final stages. The winner of each tie in the early rounds faces elimination after a single match, while later stages require two legs to determine progress.
