The Dutch Men's Volleyball Eredivisie is the top-tier professional volleyball league in the Netherlands. Organized by the Nederlandse Volleybal Bond (NeVoBo), it was founded in 1948, with the inaugural season concluding in 1949. The league currently consists of 10 teams, although recent seasons have featured fewer clubs, including Advisie/SSS, Dynamo Apeldoorn, Huizen, Lycurgus Groningen, Numidia VC Limax, and Orion Stars.
The season format comprises a regular season followed by a split phase. The top four teams advance to the Championship Poule (Kampioenspoule), while the remaining six compete in a Relegation/Play-out Poule. The Championship Poule determines the finalists, who contest a best-of-five series for the national title. Recent formats have included quarter-final play-offs involving the top four teams.
Regarding promotion and relegation, the league structure has undergone recent changes with the introduction of the Superdivisie as the second tier. As of the 2024/2025 season, the last-place team in the Eredivisie is relegated to the Superdivisie. However, promotion from the Superdivisie to the Eredivisie is not automatic for the champion; the path is restricted, and the Superdivisie champion is designated as the Amateur Champion of the Netherlands without guaranteed entry to the top flight.
Dynamo Apeldoorn (formerly Piet Zoomers Apeldoorn) is the most successful club with 15 titles. The current reigning champion (2023–24) is Active Living Orion. The league was known as the A-League from 2007 to 2012 and has had title sponsors such as BetCity. In 2023, the league became legally independent from NeVoBo, forming the Coöperatie Eredivisie Volleybal Nederland (CEVN).
