Super League (England) 2026/27

The English Volleyball Super League stands as the premier domestic competition for volleyball in England. Governed by Volleyball England, the organisation previously known as the English Volleyball Association, it occupies the highest position in the National Volleyball League pyramid. The tournament traces its origins back to 1977, with the inaugural season concluding in 1977–78 for both genders. It operates as a distinct entity, separate from the English National Cup which was established later in 1982.

The structure is divided into two parallel tiers: the Dynamik Men's Super League and the MAAREE Women's Super League, titles derived from their respective commercial sponsors. Each division features eight participating clubs. The competitive calendar follows a standard round-robin format during the regular season, culminating in a 'Final 4' knockout weekend. This decisive event takes place in April at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, hosting semi-finals and medal matches to crown the season’s victors.

Movement between the top flight and the second tier, NVL Division 1, is governed by strict criteria. The bottom team in the Super League faces automatic relegation, while the sixth and seventh-place sides contest a playoff to determine the final position destined for the lower division. Conversely, champions from the NVL Division 1 North and South conferences gain promotion, provided they meet facility requirements. The league underwent a significant rebranding from the National Super League around the 2019–20 period.

Historical dominance within the sport belongs largely to the Malory Eagles, who hold the record for most titles in both the men's (19) and women's (8) competitions. In the most recent completed season, 2024–25, the London Giants secured the men's championship while the Malory Eagles retained their women's crown. The competition serves as the definitive pinnacle of the English volleyball landscape.
